Kelowna Disc Golf

The tourist destination of Kelowna caters to outdoor activities and healthy lifetsyle. At the base of Knox Mountain is Sutherland Park which plays host to Kelowna's disc (frisbee) golf course. The course is made up of 9 tonals. The park is flat for the most part but positioning of the tonals makes for several challenging holes. Notorious for the low canopy, players are challenged to keep their drives low and accurate.

Holes one through nine average 69 metres in length. The back nine holes use the same 9 tonals as the front with alternate tee boxes. The slightly longer and more challenging back nine averages 85 meters per hole. The course is built on the site of an old campground and many picninc table foundations can still be seen. Often these make up the tee boxes but expect uneven ground for the most part. The interior of the park is home to a gravel road that is often considered a water hazard.

As one of the Okanagan's only disc golf courses this par 3 course benefits from it's proximity to the lake on the hot summer days. The lake moderates the temperature making the course usable for most of the winter months as well. The course doubles as an on-leash dog park so don't be surprised to see plenty of strollers with their pets.
